We departed from St. Augustine on May 26th, day nine.
The very nice man who tenders the bascule bridge had perfect radio etiquette. He even stepped out of his control area and spoke to me as we passed him. He wished us a safe journey and called me Captain. Like I said, very nice.
Several dophins swam alongside Makara on many occasions all day long. Finally, the light was from a good angle and the water was clear enough that I could see their faces. They don’t always do that.
It’s a long way in from the sea to reach Charleston, like several miles. When this cargo ship passed us, we were still about 4 miles from the city marina.
